Positive Messages on Sticky Notes

Several months ago, I wrote a post about how I crossed “Write Inspirational Messages on Sticky Notes and Put Them in Public Places Off my Bucket List.” It was a lot of fun thinking that perhaps, I made someone’s day who came across one or more of the notes. Therefore, I smiled last week when I went into the bathroom at school and saw a positive sticky note sitting in front of me in the stall. This note would be especially great for someone going through a difficult time right now, I thought. Later that day, I discovered the note was part of a series of inspirational notes placed all over campus. Here is an article about the notes that wound up on University Primetime. Below are a few photos of the note I found:

What do you guys think? Anyone interested in pursuing a similar project or have done something similar? I’d love to hear from you!

  1. I myself would like to do something like that! After reading your previous post I have taken it upon myself to do such a thing too. Once I’m out of boarding school, I will!

  5. I love this idea and have been wanting to do it for a while! A couple of years ago I had just come back from a very long road trip and my car was covered in dirt and mud, and when I went back to my car after class one day someone had left me a free car wags certificate under my windshield wiper with a note saying they thought I could use it and hoped I had a great day. It was such a blessing!

  6. After reading your earlier post, I thought I’d give it a try too. I haven’t yet, but I want to. Just want to get some cute post-its instead of the plain square ones. πŸ™‚

  7. Love it πŸ™‚ my oldest daughter is going to college in the fall. I hope she finds some inspirational sticky notes when she needs them. Thanks for sharing.

  10. A couple of years ago, I found a pretty floral stickie on a bathroom mirror. It said, “I LOVE YOU, MOM.” A few women read it or touched it, smiled, and we all left it there for the next mom to read.

What a fun idea! I’d like to do a day of random acts of kindness on my next birthday, and these little messages would be perfect additions.

  12. Dona says:

GREAT idea! I always think of ways I can “pay it forward” but don’t have the cash to actually “pay” for stuff. This is a great way to spread a positive message, change someone’s outlook, and make a positive impact without going broke. Love it!!

I once worked with an Assistant Principal who frequently wrote sticky notes of appreciation even for things such as bulletin boards, helping others, etc. It was wonderful. I’ve also known teachers who write notes on the desks of students which brought smiles to their faces. Little acts of kindness are wonderful.
